“I’m coming for you” Kevin Durant won’t be pleased with Stephen A. Smith’s latest foreshadowing
Stephen A Smith getting ready with comments on Kevin Durant
Brooklyn Nets and Kevin Durant are facing many questions from the media over the past month or so. Kevin Durant made his trade request public on 30th June and after 1 month of non-conclusive discussions, he held face to face meeting with the Owners. All these were discussed by many analysts and media personalities after that meeting details were revealed, but one prominent name was missing from all the discussions – Stephen A Smith. ESPN television personality Stephen A. Smith has been missing from ‘First Take’ for over a month now. He has been recovering from shoulder surgery on a partially torn rotator cuff and bicep.
Making his return from the surgery, Smith took to Twitter to announce that he will make an appearance on the Monday morning show. In his video, he also talked about some of the topics he plans to discuss, including Kevin Durant and his trade demand from the Brooklyn Nets.
Cheeky face Smith said, “I’ll be back, Monday morning, 10am eastern standard time. There’s a whole bunch of stuff to get into. But I haven’t had an opportunity to comment about KD (Kevin Durant) and his trade demand… it’s been a while. But I’m ready.”
Kevin Durant received many views and suggestions over his trade demand, will Stephen A Smith provide him any different angle on the same?
2-time NBA champion Kevin Durant has been in the news for various reasons. He was targeted for being a less effective Nets team and after failing to deliver a title over there, he is seeking to move for “another” easy route to a championship. KD’s moves were heavily criticized in the past also, but this time around his decision to join and leave the Nets has received huge criticism.
Smith has been known for saying outlandish things and does not shy away from confrontation. It will be very interesting to see exactly what his take is on Durant’s situation, as he is the one left out from making points over the current state.
12-time All-Star Durant was expected to be moved within weeks of his trade demand, but here we are, over a month out from that news breaking, and Durant still making news for wrong reasons only and has not been traded. The most recent rumor had him wanting to go to Boston or even to Philly. The Celtics reportedly made an offer but the Nets refused and counted with a massive asking price.
Many analysts including Skip Bayless – suggested that the meeting and trade request are bluffs, and fans will see KD playing for the nets in 2023, while some suggested preferred destinations for KD, with Philly, Celtics, and Heat leading the chase. Other analysts also made strong suggestions that the Nets should lower the asking price in order to move KD.
Kevin’s destination and Smith’s take on the situation are still not known to many, but we will certainly get to hear from Stephen A Smith on the Monday night show, while might have to wait on KD’s future team.
