“If he doesn’t have that attitude they might not even make the playoffs” Kevin Garnett asserts how Anthony Davis needs to lead the Lakers as MVP contender
Anthony Davis and Kevin Garnett
Former Boston Celtics star player Kevin Garnett expects Los Angeles Lakers player Anthony Davis to give out an MVP performance in the upcoming NBA season. Davis has been making headlines for quite a time now, and many former players expect him to come out and give his best in the new season. Kevin Garnett was talking on the ‘All the Smoke’ show, where he put forth his expectations for the Lakers player.
Kevin Garnett said, “I want to see Anthony Davis go for the MVP of this league. Literally, take the keys from Bron and put LA on his back.” He added, “If he doesn’t have that attitude they might not even make the playoffs.” A lot depends for LA Lakers on Anthony’s health. He has always been a marquee player for them, but his injuries have kept him away from the game for much time.
Anthony Davis’s form will decide the future of the LA Lakers in the new season. He will have to share most of the workload of NBA great LeBron James. The Lakers have formed a strong roster by acquiring Patrick Beverley and a few other players. Even Kendrick Nunn has made a comeback to the team. But with LeBron and Anthony being the vital cog of the lakers’ machine, Anthony has a critical role to be played. If he can reflect an MVP performance, the lakers are assured of a title.

Can Anthony Davis lift the spirits of the LA Lakers?
The Los Angeles Lakers played their first pre-season game against a young Sacramento Kings team. The Lakers lost the game despite leading 46-41 at halftime. The final score was 105-75. The average of Lakers at the end of the game was disastrous, with 31.2% shooting from the floor, 23.3 from beyond the arc, 62.% from the charity stripe, and ball security was absent throughout, as L.A.’s offense coughed up 20 turnovers.
On the other hand, Anthony Davis finished the night with 11 points and 11 rebounds on 4-for-9 shooting in 11 minutes. He looked swift and demanded the ball from time to time. He was assertive as well as aggressive. Hence, such timely performances from him will keep up the spirits of the Lakers. They play the Phoenix Suns in the second match of the pre-season.
