“He don’t give a f**k. Guard AD, guard f*****g Jokic guard f*****g Embiid” – Kevin Garnett obsessively HYPES Warriors’ big man
Celtics legend left impressed by the Golden State Warriors' secret weapon, lauding him over the Dubs' first round second pick.

Going into this postseason, the Golden State Warriors had their most consistent player shine among the veterans of the league. Kevon Looney has been one of the best bigs so far into the playoffs. The Dubs never had a real center while having Kevin Durant on the roster. Years later, the Warriors’ own bench player proved to be the missing piece on the defensive end of the floor.
Kevon isn’t the best scorer on his team, but he does all the work that gets the ball moving. Looney has been an exceptional player when it comes to grabbing rebounds. He’s been averaging 15 rebounds and seven points a game so far into the postseason. Kevon’s improvement has been impressive ever since the Dubs won their back-to-back title.
He may not be the most athletic young man in the league, but definitely gets the job done. The 25-year-old left NBA legends impressed by his dynamic performance. Some of the great bigs of the league admire players playing the old-school way. Looney seems the same kind, as his job is to stay active on the boards while the scorers do their work on the offensive end. Kevin Garnett praised Looney, and how his presence really mattered for the Warriors.
Garnett compared the Warriors’ number two pick from the 2020 draft, James Wiseman to Looney. “So I’m looking for Wiseman, so he’s probably a better scorer, or I would assume he’s a better scorer right?”, said KG. Though Looney is always ready to fight for the ball. “Looney gonna fall eight times, grab the rebound, guard AD, guard f*****g Jokic, guard f*****g Embiid. He don’t give a f**k.”, added Garnett. While Looney was the hardest player on the court, his efforts never went to waste.
The Golden State Warriors have a great asset for their future

The Warriors have a bright future with Looney on the roster. Looney has been as consistent as a player can get. In the last two seasons, Kevon hasn’t missed a game. Last season, Looney played 82 games while he started in 80 of them. Apart from the regular season, Kevon had the same consistency in the postseason, suiting up for all the games.
On the defensive end, Looney has done a great job guarding centers. Going ahead in the playoffs, he’ll meet Anthony Davis in the paint.
Having a size and skill advantage over Kevon, it will be interesting to see how Looney will manage to hold off AD in the second round. The Dubs fought their way out of the first round, sealing the series in seven games, as they will host the Los Angeles Lakers for Game 1 on Tuesday.
