LeBron James’s reason behind logging in for significant game time on court
The Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has been one of the most utilized players on the team’s roster this season. Clocking in over 42 minutes a game James is putting in a lot of effort and has been putting out impressive performances. James has so far put up exceptional numbers this season, averaging 25.3 points including 8.4 rebounds, 5.9 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game.
Post the loss against the Denver Nuggets for 119-107, head coach Darvin Ham announced limiting the game time of the superstar to approximately 28 to 32 minutes to help James maintain his health. Darvin Ham said in a media interaction:
Again, it’s gonna be a day-by-day process, gauged on how he’s feeling, getting communication from him, our training staff and medical staff. We communicate and collaborate … and again, it’s easy with him.
Following the initial announcement of the game time for the Lakers’ superstar, James has consistently played over 35.5 minutes per game this season. When questioned about the possibility of limiting his game time, Ham explained that they go into each game with a plan, but when the games become intense, that plan often goes out the window. He mentioned having a strategy for the first three quarters, but anything can happen in the fourth.
