During a Golden State Warriors practise, Draymond Green was visibly spotted ’sucker punching Jordan Poole. Emotions clearly ran high as both players continued to shout at one other, and Green hit Poole. Following the event, reports about Green wishing to leave the group began to circulate. However, it is unlikely that the Warriors veteran would leave due to a misunderstanding. During a recent Warriors news conference, Kevon Looney discussed Green and the issue. Looney is aware of the complexities of the situation.

That isn’t to say Green and the organisation aren’t willing to work things out. Looney is sure that Green will finally make things right with the team.

Kevon Looney appeared in the Warriors’ preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday without his normal frontcourt partner Draymond Green, who needed time away from the club to recover from his confrontation with Jordan Poole.  Looney discussed the situation after Golden State’s 124-121 loss against the Lakers.

Looney speaking on the ongoing trouble in the Warrior’s camp said “It’s been different, It’s been complicated,” Looney told reporters. “We had a lot of things happen here in my time but a lot of things usually get to stay in-house and we get to handle most of the time like that. “It’s a little different with it being out in public and all the outside commotion weighing in on people’s decision or why people think.”

What’s more, though Looney says the situation is “difficult,” he feels Golden State has the leadership and “right” people, like Steph Curry and Andre Iguodala, to get through it. “Whenever adversity hits, this team usually responds the right way and this is the ultimate test for us and I think we’ll be able to get through it,” Looney continued.

Team practises may be tense, especially when certain players are failing and the veterans notice. Michael Jordan and the late Kobe Bryant were well-known for criticising their teammates. As a team captain, Draymond Green is comparable. The most recent instance did not go as planned. Jordan Poole and Draymond Green allegedly battled at a Golden State Warriors practise recently. The players’ emotions were running high as they continued to shout at one another, and Green ultimately hit Poole. Just a few days later, TMZ posted an audio-free video of the mix-up.
