Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton of Milwaukee Bucks
Milwaukee Bucks are facing an additional challenge while going into the Game 3 against Boston Celtics. The defending champions’ coach gave an update on Khris Middleton’s injury, which might be a piece of bad news for the team.
Eastern powerhouse Milwaukee Bucks bulldozed Boston Celtics in 1st game of the playoff series and but went onto suffer in game 2. As a result of which the series is tied at 1-1 right now. All games are important in the postseason, and so are the players. The absence of any important player could hamper the game outcome, and Milwaukee will have an exact situation at home. Coach Mike Budenholzer gave an update on all important Khris Middleton.
Milwaukee Bucks wing Khris Middleton is currently out with an MCL sprain in his left knee. As per the update given by the Coach, Middleton will be out for game 3 and game 4 for sure, and his return may depend on further reports from the medical team.
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bucks face a heavy task without Khris Middleton
Middleton was diagnosed with a strain in the left knee during 1st round matchup against Chicago Bulls. As per reports, Middleton continues to make steady progress in rehab but will miss the next 2 games against the surging Boston Celtics. Milwaukee used Bobby Portis in starting lineup to replace Middleton and won 4 games in a row in the playoffs – 3 against the Bulls and 1st game against Boston Celtics.

But Celtics’ demolition win in game 2 could be an alarming sign for defending Champions, as three-time, all-star had a different effect on the game than filling in players like – Grayson Allen and Pat Connaughton. Khris averaged 20.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.4 assists through 66 games in the regular season, and Bucks posted a 7-9 record this season, emphasizing the importance of a 30-years old star for the team.
In the 2021 championship run, Antetokounmpo was a star player for the Bucks, but he had very potent support from Khris Middleton on a stretch. Middleton was the team’s best 3-point and free-throw shooter in the 2021 playoffs and 2nd top scorer behind Giannis.
Thus, ever-so-crucial Middleton will be missed for sure, and Giannis will have an extra load to carry in upcoming games. Also, there will be an onus on Grayson Allen and Pat Connaughton to perform off the bench at the wing.
