The NBA is famous for its brand endorsements. If a product is advertised along the NBA, it is almost certain to become a household name. The NBA has recently become open to more and more brand endorsements. The latest one is a collaboration with SKIMS. SKIMS is Kim Kardashian‘s billion-dollar shapewear and apparel line.
The NBA announced the partnership recently, and it will extend to the WNBA too. Kardashian said:
I am incredibly proud of SKIMS‘ partnership with the NBA, as it is a reflection of SKIMS growing influence on culture.Kim Kardashian on SKIMS/NBA partnership.
She has already got big stars around the world advertising her products. This includes OKC star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who recently posted a photo of him wearing SKIMS on his Instagram.
Kim Kardashian further added on:
Together, SKIMS and the NBA will connect people of all backgrounds through fashion, sport, and talent, and I look forward to seeing the partnership thrive.
The fact that SKIMS has partnered with the National Basketball Association could very well mean that we could see NBA courts sporting the SKIMS logo. SKIMS co-founder Jens Grede appeared to be very happy with the partnership. She said It will be interesting to see how this collaboration works out.

It appears many fans were unhappy that SKIMS was partnering with the NBA. Many criticized the league for claiming to be kid-friendly and then having an underwear brand as their sponsor.

Whether or not the SKIMS partnership with the NBA will boost the brand’s popularity remains too early to tell.
