New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau is rumored to have had some ‘Ime Udoka traits’ during his younger days. Recently, a post on Instagram by officialnbabuzz highlighted the same. A detailed caption highlighted some critical points in Tom’s career as a professional player.
Tom’s devotion to basketball goes back to the 1980s when he was an assistant coach at Salem State and called off his wedding at that moment. He was engaged to a woman named Debbie in the 1980s. She was one of two Debbie he dated simultaneously, whom he called ‘D1’ & ‘D2.’ Thibodeau & Debbie called off their wedding because of his commitment to coaching basketball. He also studied tape daily & skipped hanging out with friends.
Former Salem State athletic director John Galaris narrated that Thibodeau told him, “There’s no room in my life for a woman if I’m going to be a basketball coach.” Thibodeau’s love for basketball kept growing daily, making him miss weddings, birthday parties, holidays, funerals, and baptisms in the past. For the first time in 20 years, Tom managed to attend a family holiday event during the 2011 NBA lockout. Tom Thibodeau never married a woman, as he was already married to the basketball game.

New York Knicks president is very excited about the new roster
In an interview, Knicks president Leon Rose said he is ‘thrilled’ with the new roster with the team set to start their training camp soon. Rose said, “We went through that process (of trying to trade for Mitchell) and at the end of the day we made a decision to stay put,” Rose said. “And we’re thrilled with where we are. Taking a look at the summer, we feel great about what transpired.”
Rose also talked about bringing Mitchell Robinson back into the team and commented, “He fills one of the biggest voids that we have. The starting point guard. That is such an important role on our team. We needed that person that was going stabilize us.” The New York Knicks play their first match against the Memphis Grizzlies on the 19th Oct in the upcoming 2022-2023 NBA season.
