“It was a wasted year” Kyle Lowry triggers Jimmy Butler and Heat fans after controversial statement
Kyle Lowry
Kyle Lowry was apparently let down during his first his year with the Miami Heat. Unfortunately, the Heat were disappointed by the end of the Eastern Conference Finals after battling through an injured leader. Their opponents pushed the series to Game 7 taking full advantage of the window of opportunity when Jimmy Butler was playing through an injury.
Miami Heat was not looking like the title favorites until they worked through the playoffs. Butler was in a major effect on the offensive end of the floor averaging 27.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game. But without him, matchups against their opponents would experience a high level of defense without any scoring option.
Kyle Lowry throws shade at the Heat following the Game 7 loss against the Boston Celtics
The Heat’s title run ended with a very bitter taste in their mouths as they have been trying to win since the arrival of Butler. Kyle Lowry played his very first season with the team this after being acquired via free agency. The veteran spoke to the media saying his first season felt like it was a “waste” as they did not make the finals. However, considering that this is his very first season, it seems almost unfair that he had said such a thing.
On the contrary, his performances were not too effective during the playoffs as he averaged only 7.8 points, 4.7 assists, and 3.6 rebounds per game. He was dealing with a hamstring injury which caused him to stay out on a couple of matchups. Another player who had more of an impact was Victor Oladipo who put up 10.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game along with 1.3 steals shooting 43% from the field and 79.2% from the free-throw line coming off major quadriceps surgery. The former must have had high expectations but they were cut short by the saddening injury plague.
