The Lakers had just put together a three-game win streak and had leapt up to the 9th seed before this loss. The New York Knicks are on fire in the NBA, winning 10 of their last 13 games. The Knicks also broke their three-game losing streak in the process.
The Lakers were one game away from achieving a .500 record for the first time this season, and the Knicks denied them. Lakers fans were quite confident about LA’s resurgence, but it was short-lived. Fans on Twitter trolled Lakers fans for their optimism and were celebrating the ‘Lakers downfall.’
