“Time to sacrifice this f**king dog” – Lakers fans in MELTDOWN as viral TikTok puppy’s prediction remains perfect

The Los Angeles Lakers now have a tight grip on the Western Conference Semi-Finals after their win in Game 5. Playing at home, Los Angeles was trailing at the start of the fourth quarter. The Golden State Warriors were in a comfortable position to level the series 2-2. However, then came the knight in shining armor for the Lakers. Lonnie Walker IV exploded in the fourth quarter with 15 points, quickly dousing the Warriors’ flame. Stephen Curry‘s stellar triple-double went in vain as the Lakers have now taken an authoritative 3-1 lead.
Stephen Curry yet again led from the front for the defending champions with 31 points, ten rebounds, and 14 assists. However, the 2022 Finals MVP got little to no help as Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson combined for just 26 points. The Lakers, on the other hand, put up an impressive team effort. LeBron James scored 27 points, while Anthony Davis and Austin Reaves put up 23 and 21, respectively. The home side won Game 5, with the score being 101-104 at the end of regulation.
After the Lakers won Game 5, many fans have been swarming on social media. The frantic atmosphere for the Lakers fans comes from a viral TikTok puppy video. In the video, the puppy predicts the series winner by shooting a plastic basketball into two baskets—one for each team. The first two shots go into both baskets. The Lakers then get a 3-1 lead, just like they did in Game 5. However, the puppy then goes on to put three consecutive shots into the Warriors’ basket predicting a 3-4 Warriors win after a phenomenal comeback.
Although it is just a TikTok video made for entertainment, fans are now in awe and shock about the accuracy of the prediction. Moreover, even the order of the games won by both teams was right. The Lakers won Games 1, 3, and 4, while Golden State Warriors won Game 2, just like in the video. As Game 5 comes up next, the Warriors will have to win all three games if they want to keep their season alive. If they do, the TikTok puppy will certainly be an internet sensation.
Can Warriors come back from 3-1 down against Lakers?
While coming back from a 3-1 deficit is a difficult task, it is certainly not unheard of. In fact, there is one such comeback in NBA history involving two front-running players from this very series. LeBron James and Stephen Curry have been a part of the historic comeback from a 3-1 deficit by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 NBA Finals. While Curry was on the receiving end of blowing a 3-1 lead, James made history for his side.
Although the Golden State Warriors are not having their best postseason run, a 3-1 deficit isn’t a new challenge to them. In fact, Curry and Co. themselves have made a comeback from the large deficit in the year of their record regular season run. Their comeback came against Oklahoma City Thunder in 2016 when they upset Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in the Western Conference Finals. So, even after being down 3-1, the Warriors can’t be written off unless and until the series is done and dusted.
