In LaMelo’s absence, Brandon Miller scored 29 points, while creating three assists and having seven rebounds. Miles Bridges assisted with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. Jalen Brunson led the New York Knicks with 32 points, four rebounds, and seven assists. Donte DiVincenzo came up with 28 points, six rebounds, and five assists.

An injured LaMelo Ball was courtside during the game, sitting with teammates and taking in the game. He was caught on camera, laughing at an incident that occurred. Steve Clifford, head coach of the Hornets was ejected from the game for his protests following what he perceived as a foul play on Brandon Miller.
