The Chicago Bulls of the 90s were known for their dynamic duo: Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. However, the Pippen-Jordan partnership in the 2020s is not something either of them would want to be associated with. Scottie Pippen, who was previously married to Larsa Pippen, has been dating MJ’s son, Marcus, since the start of this year, following her divorce from the NBA legend in 2021.
Larsa recently appeared on the “Whine Down with Jana Kramer” podcast, where she talked about her relationship with MJ’s son, Marcus. She also threw light on how this situation has made things awkward between her ex-husband and her partner’s father, Michael, adding fuel to an already bitter relationship.
Larsa said, “I feel like it’s probably awkward for them, for my ex and (MJ), but I get it. I’m not crazy. I understand it’s different for them.” Scottie’s ex-wife is aware of how things must be between the NBA superstar duo.
Scottie and MJ’s relationship has been soured for some time, especially since the release of MJ’s documentary, “The Last Dance,” which was followed by the revelation of Scottie’s ex-wife dating MJ’s son, making the relationship even more awkward. According to Larsa Pippen, she is unsure if Scottie and Mike even have a relationship today.
The Rocky relationship between Larsa Pippen and Michael Jordan
During the recent podcast appearance, Larsa Pippen clarified that she has not hung out with Michael Jordan but only with his wife since she started dating his son. “No, I haven’t hung out with his dad. I’ve only hung out with his mom,” said Larsa.
When MJ was asked by the paparazzi about his approval of the relationship between his son and his ex-teammate’s ex-wife while walking out of a restaurant, Jordan laughed and said no, leading people to believe that he disapproved of the relationship. When Larsa was asked about MJ’s comment, she said that it wasn’t funny to her; instead, she felt embarrassed. “I kinda felt like it went everywhere and I was kind of embarrassed,” Larsa said.
Marcus later came out and said that his father had texted him, stating that he was okay with the relationship. Marcus further added that he doesn’t need his father’s permission to date anyone as he makes his own personal decisions and that MJ will love him no matter what.
