“You don’t wanna see us next year”, These were Stephen Curry’s words on May 21^st, 2021 after a disappointing loss to the Grizzlies in the Play-In Tournament. About 11 months down the line, the Warriors have stepped up and claimed what is theirs, their opponents have bowed down, and the haters are nowhere to be seen, as the Golden State Warriors clinch their 4^th NBA Title in 8 seasons.

Stephen Curry has dismembered his critics, obliterated every hurdle on his way and has led the path for Golden State to rise from its ashes to the their rightful throne. The Golden State Warriors are NBA champions after coming away with a 103-90 victory over the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the NBA Finals at TD Garden on Thursday night. 

Shooting over double-teams from the logo, crossing people over and shooting beyond half court, step backs under pressure, runners off one leg from 35 feet, simply the greatest display of shooting we’ve ever seen! In the end, Curry, once again, led the way for Golden State on the offensive end. He finished the series-clinching win with a team-high 34 points, seven rebounds and seven assists, adding yet another chapter to his already storied career.

The rest of the Warriors offered Curry plenty of help as Andrew Wiggins, Jordan Poole, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson all scored in double figures as well. On the other end, the Celtics were led by Jaylen Brown, who did all he could with 34 points, seven rebounds and three assists, but unfortunately for Boston fans, it wasn’t enough to extend their season one more game.

Stephen Curry clinches his 4th Title, levels himself with Lebron James

There was a lot of speculation about where Stephen Curry and Golden State will be at the end of this NBA season, after suffering their worst couple of years in recent history. People keep forgetting the lesson that ‘Warriors’ is their name, a part of who they are, they don’t give up.

The horrific end to the 2019 NBA Finals, which saw Klay suffering a torn ACL, coupled with 2 of their worst seasons in recent history, some people were assuming the dynasty had died, well, seems like it won’t so soon. After having gone through so much, Golden State have reinstated their position back among the elite, with Stephen Curry as their ‘Achilles’ .

Stephen Curry has been called many things, from ‘Baby-faced Assassin’ to ‘3-point God’, but the Finals MVP is something that had eluded him for the past decade. After finally getting the MVP and that 4th ring in the bag, is it time for the Stephen Curry vs LeBron James debate ?

Stephen Curry and Lebron James are two names that have dominated the NBA for the past 15 years. Both Akron-born superstars have had stellar records to show for in the last decade of NBA basketball. Both of these legends have faced each other in 4 consecutive NBA Finals in the 2010s, with Steph having the upper hand in three of the four instances. With Steph and the Warriors reigniting themselves, fans have taken to Twitter to debate the status of Steph Curry and LeBron James in comparison with each other yet again.

While Steph holds the undisputed tag as the greatest shooter of all time, as he surpassed Ray Allen for the most amount of 3-pointers in the NBA, he isn’t often spoken about in the same breath as LeBron who is in the conversation for GOAT status with Michael Jordan. With the Warriors clinching their 4th NBA title in 8 seasons and 7th overall, the world has claimed Curry supremacy. However, Lebron James has been in the league since 2003 and his number are mind boggling.

LeBron, part of the 2003 draft class is a sheer anomaly in terms of longevity. And his numbers from day one have been extremely impressive. Steph, who was an unheralded prospect took time to find his feet in the league and the numbers heavily reflect that. If any defense in the league was celebrating Stephen Curry being past his prime, you will be in drowned by his 3’s, as the 2-time MVP is showing no signs of stopping. Every time the 3-point God descends on the court he mesmerizes us with his divine shooting ability, setting an NBA Finals record in the 1st quarter of Game 1 itself.

LeBron James has had an illustrious career made out of poster dunks, buzzer beaters and pretty applaud-worthy attacking prowess. While the greatness of both stars is undisputed, the fans still remain vocal in their displeasure while comparing each other. Regardless, LeBron and Curry will be forever immortalized in NBA history as game-changers who defined the 2010s.

Stephen Curry is undoubtedly one of the greatest of all time, the shift he put in to fend-off the Boston Young Guns was a performance for the ages, as for being compared to Lebron, he might have to continue putting up these insane numbers for the rest of his career.
