“LeBron James did not do nothing” LaVar Ball got brutally honest why Lakers traded Lonzo Ball in such sleazy manner

LaVar Ball has always one of the brutal opinions in the world of NBA, especially when it is surrounding his sons, who are deemed to be the rising stars of modern-day NBA. However, in a rare instance he decided to defend LeBron James when his son was traded away to the New Orleans Pelicans only so that Anthony Davis could join forces with the King in order to secure the 2020 NBA Championship.

Given that LeBron James is the unspoken GM of the Los Angeles Lakers, he digs into what teammates would be crucial in making a championship run. Having to make his way in Hollywood from Cleveland, he desperately chased his fourth championship ring. In the process some youngsters were sacrificed, one of which was LaVar Ball’s eldest son, Lonzo.

Many believe the narrative that LeBron has a GM-like say on the roster of whichever team he joins. LaVar refused to feed the LeGM narrative, firmly pinning the Lonzo Ball trade on the front office. LaVar said, “LeBron didn’t do nothing. It was just the coaching over there. Coaches didn’t know how to play LeBron and Lonzo together. You saw they brought in one new guy and they won a championship, it was that simple.”

LaVar has compared his sons to the greatest players ever in the NBA and does not even shy away from pointing out that he himself, would have been a great asset in the NBA, even if it was against Michael Jordan. On the same note, to see the same man not pointing fingers at LeBron, was quite something.

But for the Ball household, they would surely be happy to witness Lonzo having a pretty settled time in Chicago with DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine. Given that the Bulls could experience a major change ahead of the 2022-23 season, with majority feeling a departure on the gates for the former Slam Dunk Champion, Lonzo could fetch a bigger role in the team. Will we finally witness Lonzo living up to his hype? Surely, dad LaVar would be keeping his fingers crossed.
