Lavar Ball has been trying to get his son, LiAngelo Ball, back into the league after he was waived a month after being signed to a contract by the Charlotte Hornets, the team his son LaMelo Ball is also signed to a max deal, which is worth $260 million dollars. He was recently seen with his father Lavar benching 400 pounds in a video that was shared on social media.
LiAngelo was indeed a standout player alongside his brothers Lonzo Ball and LaMelo during their time at Chino Hills High School, where they achieved an undefeated record while all three siblings played together. However, unlike his brothers, LiAngelo did not enter the NBA as a lottery pick. Lonzo was selected second overall by the LA Lakers in the 2017 NBA Draft, while LaMelo was chosen third overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2020 NBA Draft. Both Lonzo and LaMelo have made significant progress in their NBA careers, while LiAngelo’s path to professional basketball has been different.
LiAngelo’s journey to the NBA has differed from that of his brothers. He went undrafted in the 2018 NBA draft and has primarily played in the G-League. In his most recent stint, he participated in 28 games for the Hornets’ G-League team, averaging just 4.6 points and 1.1 rebounds.
Although he secured a training camp deal with the Charlotte Hornets, he couldn’t secure one of the 15 spots on the team, leading to his release. LiAngelo has expressed a desire to play alongside his brothers, but it appears that this dream may not materialize.

NBA fans are critical of LaVar Ball’s role in his sons’ basketball careers, especially after the injury struggles of his eldest son, Lonzo. Lonzo has faced a lengthy recovery and multiple surgeries, with concerns raised about the shoes LaVar endorsed potentially contributing to the problem.
As LaVar starts training LiAngelo Ball, fans are voicing their disapproval and suggesting that he should stay away from his sons’ basketball pursuits.
LaVar Ball is trying to revive the Big Baller Brand (BBB) with new products and hopes to make LiAngelo its new star, as his other sons have signed deals with brands like Puma. For example, LaMelo is the face of Puma’s basketball shoes.
