LeBron James is always ready to expand his empire through various means within and outside the sports community. The legend recently became a billionaire and one of three athletes to achieve that monetary status. But it could be possible that the King will become the richest athlete ever.
The Los Angeles Lakers forward finally addressed the media about his recent investment in Major League Pickleball. He said, “I think its the most fastest growing sports in America right now… I’m a smart man, a smart businessman and… I mean… it was very smart.”
“We’ve got a great group to put that team together. It’s actually a really really cool sport. We have a home in Cabo and we actually have a pickleball coat there. We actually play a lot during the off-season. It’s pretty fun. And I think a lot people enjoy it.”

LeBron James’ investment could help Major League Pickleball skyrocket
LeBron James became one of several recent investors in MLP. The sport is not that complex to understand and functions like a combination of Tennis and Badminton. Along with the King, Draymond Green and Kevin Love had also invested in the sport considering how popular it has become over the last few years.
Dubbed “America’s unofficial pandemic passtime,” this sport was apparently created by a group of fathers trying to entertain their children. Founder of the MLP Steve Kuhn was very appreciative that the NBA superstars had put their money into the rising league.
“Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the country, building communities in cities and towns all over the world. This investment and the platform that this group provides will significantly help us with our goal to reach 40 million pickleball players by 2030.” This sport may potentially become just the NBA in the coming years.
