LeBron James’ agent gives BIZARRE excuse for Lakers superstar’s horrible NBA Finals record
Rich Paul, LeBron James' agent, asserts that in 8 out of the 10 Finals appearances LeBron has made in his career, he was considered the underdog.

LeBron James has made appearances in ten NBA Finals during his 20-year career. While he has only won four, which many consider a blemish on his resume, James faced multiple dynasties, including the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors, leading to six Finals losses in his career.
While many criticize this record, his agent, Rich Paul, disagrees. He asserts that James was the underdog in eight out of the ten finals he played, except for 2011 and 2012. He points out that James led his Cleveland Cavaliers team to the Finals against the Spurs at just 22 years old, stating, “At 22 years of age, he took a team to the Finals as the underdog. He’s always the underdog. Every Finals he ever played, outside of 2012 and maybe 2011, for the most part.”
It’s rare for a player to lead a team to a playoff series win, let alone an NBA finals appearance, at 22 and compete against formidable opponents like Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker. Players like Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves have had little success in the playoffs, even with talented teammates like Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns.
Rich Paul explains that the criticism faced by LeBron James is different

LeBron James has achieved a lot in his career and makes a strong case for being the greatest of all time over Michael Jordan. However, according to Paul, the media coverage continuously downplays his achievements, especially analysts like Skip Bayless, who criticize James for everything.
James’ agent and long-time friend, Rich Paul, also highlights the difference in media coverage today. He points out that James has to deal with constant 24/7/365 news cycle scrutiny of sports and opinions. “LeBron is the first player to have to deal with a 24/7/365 news cycle of sports and opinions,” Paul explained.
LeBron James is now in his 21st year playing at the highest level in the NBA. Despite being 38 years old, he is still considered among the top 10 players in the league and is in a prime position to prove his doubters wrong again by winning his fifth championship next season.
