For the two friends and long-time rivals to put up a show while in the twilight of their careers resulted in one of the great games of the regular season.

LeBron James has had many a match against Stephen Curry. The two Akron-born athletes have been considered to be the face of the league for the past two decades. Tonight was a matchup just like the other umpteen games they’ve played against each other.

James and his Los Angeles Lakers won by one point at the end of the second overtime session. Basketball fans rejoiced watching these two icons go about their business in the best way they could.

LeBron James is playing in his 21st season. The 39-year-old is the oldest player in the league. But that did not stop him from grabbing a career-high 20 rebounds in this contest. Moreover, he led the Lakers with 36 points and 12 assists to post a triple-double. Curry posted 46 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists to cap off the incredible night.

Both James and Curry went back and forth trying to get their team to a win. The Lakers and the Golden State Warriors traded second-half quarters to tie the game and send it to overtime. Then it was Curry and James who dueled to send the game to a second overtime. Curry scored a go-ahead three-pointer with 5 seconds left on the clock. But James’ subsequent drive to the basket yielded two free throws. He made both clutch throws to win the game.
