The LA Lakers superstar took to Instagram, sharing a video in which he voiced his thoughts on the blockbuster matchup. In the video, he made it clear that he’s on the 49ers’ side and does not support the Cowboys.

“We got the game of the day. We got to a rival game. We got a rematch from last year’s postseason. As a kid, I used to wear so much Niner stuff; when I was super young, I was a Niners fan. My Little League team wore red so we would represent the Niners. There’s so many Cowboys fans. But I’m not one of them,” James said.

Making it clear that he is seated on the 49ers bus, James also revealed his pick for the NFL season’s MVP in the video.

“I’m going with the Niners 5-0. I’m one with the Kyle Shanahan Niners. One of my favorite players, the Niners probably have the MVP right now, and that’s CMC Christian McCaffrey,” the four-time NBA champion added.

Interestingly, James was a Cowboys fan up until last season when he became aware of the team’s stance on kneeling during the national anthem. This came after Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stated that the franchise would not allow its players to “disrespect” the the national anthem or the flag.

The 49ers have kicked off the season impressively, boasting a perfect 5-0 record as they enter the game. Meanwhile, the Cowboys have also made a strong start to the season, currently holding a 3-1 record. This game could potentially play a pivotal role in determining the top seed in the NFC when the playoffs roll around.
