Even at 39 years old and being one of the oldest active players, LeBron James continues to be a formidable force in the league and someone who the Lakers fans can always count on. Of course, that is not true for a range of other stars, with some having proven themselves as liabilities so far this season
So much so that LeBron James even put forward an idea that his son would ‘Easily’ walk into this disarranged Lakers team. After what can be perceived only as a “dispiriting loss” against the Memphis Grizzlies, LeBron James found himself surrounded by the media and journalists.
With obvious questions being asked about the team’s poor form, one of the reporters wanted to know if he thought Bronny James could play for the Lakers currently. He said,
He could play for us right now. Easy. EASY.The Los Angeles Lakers suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night. They were outplayed on both ends of the court and lost 127-113, which reflects the sheer dominance of the Grizzlies.
Even the likes of Ja Morant, who had previously been suspended from the league due to his association with firearms on social media, made an impact appearance and finished with 23 points. And for a limited time, it seemed like LeBron had more than enough answers.
During the post-match interview, LeBron James was asked about his eldest son, and whether he was good enough to play for the current Lakers. The confidence with which LeBron responded is bound to make fans concerned. Moreover, given their recent form, it does not even seem to be a far-fetched idea.
LeBron’s Thoughts on Bronny’s Resilience and Determination
Since his return after a horrific incident of cardiac arrest, something LeBron and his entire family was thankful for, Bronny James has been making waves on the college basketball scene. Looking at his recent stats, given a limited playing time, no wonder LeBron has put faith in his son.
Averaging 7.5 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, Bronny has an impressive field goal percentage of 50.0%. The basketball gene surely seems to run in the James family, and may as well result in Bronny playing alongside LeBron, in the near future.
While it’s still a matter of time to know if we could see the pair play alongside, Bronny’s hype has continued to increase in recent months. Son of one of the icons of the game, he appears to be intent on carrying his father’s legacy in the coming time.
Of course, this comes in the backdrop of the Lakers’ abysmal form. 2024 couldn’t come sooner for fans who had hoped they would be able to recover from the recent stutters. However, just weeks after winning the In-Season Tournament, the Lakers appear to be in a firm rut. Of course, the season is still far from over and there is a lot of time for the team to turn things around. But the question is: Will they? Once again, time will tell.
