LeBron James and the Boston Celtics have been butting heads for longer than we all know. For someone who is as great as him, the least you could expect get thrown at you is jealousy. The Los Angeles Lakers forward recently when on the “The Shop” to reveal his true feelings on Bostons natives.
“Cause they racist as f**k. They will say anything,” James said. “And it’s fine. I mean, f**k, it’s my life. It’s s**t I’ve been dealing with my whole life; I don’t mind it. Like if I hear somebody, like, close by, I’ll check ’em real quick, I move on to the game. There was like a ‘F*** LBJ’ t-shirt. I believe they probably sold it at the f**king team shop. The Celtics had something to do with that s**t.”
Boston Mayor reaches out to LeBron James following his comments
It is obvious why LeBron James is extra heated when it comes to the people of Boston. He witnessed one of his close friends get brutally heckled by Celtics fans during the NBA Finals last season. Draymond Green, the victim had taken it with a little pinch of salt but handled it in a very classy manner. But the city’s mayor did not take his “racist as f**k” lightly.
Michelle Wu reached out to Bron on Radio Boston saying, “I don’t want to downplay the experience particularly of players who have lifted up this concern. Especially those who have been in the game for a long time and have had exposure in Boston in years past. Boston has had that reputation nationally, and it is something that we have to confront and address. I would be happy to take LeBron around and show him the Boston that I know, that I love.”
Eddie Curry highlights issues between LeBron James and Celtics from a decade ago
Eddie Curry, a very close friend of the King highlighted an incident that would have been the trigger point of LeBron James’ hatred towards the city and the Boston Celtics. He said, “Some fans walked up to him when we was walking in Boston. And one of the fans walked up like,’Hey LeBron!’ And he thought he was gonna be like,’Can I get an autograph or something?’ He said,’Hey, LeBron! You fu****g suck!’ Like right to his face.”
He continued,“It fu***d LeBron up, to the point, we had to tell him like, ‘Man, you’re LeBron James, bro.’ But he cares so much about the game and what people think of himcause he puts so much into it. He doesn’t understand why people don’t like him, how somebody just couldn’t like him.”
