After Phoenix Suns managed to edge past Luka Doncic’s Dallas Mavericks int he first game of their semi-final series, many expected the away team to draw level-pegging in the most recent game. But in came Chris Paul who simple did not know how to back-down against the resilient Mavericks side, which left his close friend LeBron James pretty speechless.
If in case you switched of your television sets after the Suns were up just 6-points entering the fourth quarter and then saw the home team emerge victorious 129-109, that is because of the inspirational 20-2 run. Chris Paul managed to score or to assist in the team’s first 19 points scored in the 40-26 fourth quarter massacre.
Chris Paul leads Suns to a comfortable 2-0 lead vs Mavs
After witnessing his good friend show his clutch genes, LeBron couldn’t really say anything but tweet “CP3” to show his amazement. And who can blame him? At 36 years old, Chris Paul is not showing any sign of slowing down. Moreover, as the games are progressing it seems like his ability in the clutch is blossoming. Chris Paul finished Game 2 with 28 points. Even more amazing, he continues to be the “King of the Fourth” in the 2022 playoffs, as he is now shooting a ridiculous 63.8 percent in the fourth quarter.
That being said, if the Dallas Mavericks do not come up with a strategy to stop Chris Paul from having less of the ball in the fourth quarter, they could soon be thrown at the edge of the clip. Given that, the series is now going to be staged in their backyard, Mavs do need to start supporting Luka Doncic more efficiently on the score-sheet. Especially when they are going to have thousands of fans cheering from behind.
Who among Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks will be able to emerge victorious in Game 3? Remains to be seen, but for let us embrace the elite skill-set of Chris Paul knowing that age is surely just another number for him.
