In a remarkable display of fatherly support and passion for the game, NBA superstar LeBron James recently traded his basketball jersey for a polo shirt to assist in coaching his son, Bryce James, at Nike’s Peach Jam tournament in North Augusta, South Carolina. Bryce, representing Strive for Greatness, had the privilege of not only having his father by his side but also receiving coaching guidance from two-time NBA Champion Rajon Rondo.

In a thrilling matchup against the Florida Rebels, Bryce James and the Strive for Greatness (SFG) team were coached by none other than Lebron James and Rojan Rondo. Despite the star power on the court, the Rebels emerged triumphant with a final score of 72-67. This defeat leaves SFG with a 1-1 record, having celebrated a victory over the Expressions just a few days ago on Monday.

LeBron James has said he wants to play with his sons in the NBA

LeBron James’ wish to play with his sons in the NBA is something that he’s spoken about to some higher basketball powers. He has repeatedly voiced his desire to play with his older son, Bronny, but recently James has voiced his desire to play alongside his younger son, Bryce.

In May of this year, Bronny James committed to join the USC Trojans basketball program. This decision places the 6’3” guard out of Sierra Canyon in a program that has achieved notable success, having qualified for the men’s NCAA tournament for three consecutive years. Whereas Bryce, a 6’6” sophomore, transferred to Campbell Hall’s high school program in May from Sierra Canyon.

LeBron James will have a decision to make in the future as his current team, the Los Angeles Lakers, just made the Western Conference Finals and have built a contending team around him and Anthony Davis. He will have to make a choice to either contend or play with Bronny in 2024–25 because the Lakers have given up their first-round pick for that year. He will have a player option in 2024–25 worth over $50 million that he could decline and join Bronny on the team that drafts him and fulfill one of his major goals.
