“Never imagine this in my life” LeBron James gets humbled after unveiling of Nike’s Innovation Center by his name

NBA star LeBron James was overwhelmed after Nike’s new development center was named after him. Nike honored their long-time sponsored athlete by naming their latest development center the ‘LeBron James Innovation Center.’ The development center will be a lab for the brand’s sports research and technology development efforts working for the betterment of the athletes.

The Los Angeles Lakers player reacted to this honor by saying, “Over the course of my career and my time here at Nike, for all of this to come together is surreal. Sometimes it doesn’t make sense to me, but I’m definitely honored. Having my name on the Innovation building feels very fitting because I’m always trying to figure out ways I can continue to innovate and continue to break the timeline of what they say is your prime.” LeBron also added: “I never imagined something like this.”

LeBron James has become one of three Nike athletes to have buildings to their names, the other two being NBA great Michael Jordan and Tennis sensation Serena Williams.  It has a 100-meter track with two track and field lanes, a full-sized basketball court, and a one-third-sized regulation football field with artificial turf. The center is entirely sourced from renewable energy and has the equipment to help track and analyze athletes from all sports.

Nike honors LeBron James ‘legacy’

By naming the development facility after the star player, Nike honored LeBron’s legacy and his contribution to the world of basketball. James has played at the highest level for almost two decades and is duly respected by other fellow athletes around the world of sports. LeBron James signed a $90 million deal with Nike when he was only 18 years old, and it became a lifetime deal, estimated to be worth over $1 billion. The agreement has only added to LeBron’s popularity and brand value and highlights his legacy as an athlete. He is one of the best players the NBA league has ever got, and LeBron continues to add a feather to his cap. He will aim to win the championship once more before drawing curtains on his career.
