A video has surfaced featuring LeBron James asking his coach to let him enter the game and step onto the court.

The Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers faced off in the opening match of the season on Tuesday Night (PST). The Lakers had been thirsty for revenge after being eliminated at the hands of the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals last post-season. Unfortunately for the Lakers, however, they lost to the Nuggets 119-107.

What surprised people the most, however, was the restriction of minutes on LeBron James. James played for just 29 minutes. Lakers Head Coach Darvin Ham didn’t keep James on the floor a lot even though the Lakers could’ve done with James’ expertise. In a video where James is mic’d up, he can be seen talking to one of his coaches and telling him that he can play point guard.

James can be heard suggesting to his coach that if the other positions on the court are already filled, he’s willing to step in as the point guard. He acknowledges that he’s essentially floating around, so it would be more productive to keep him actively involved on the court

Y'all do know I can play point guard too right? Okay. We got a lot left. I can play the point. With Rui on there or, Austin, and T.P at the 2 and 3. I'm just out there just floatin' around.

Hopefully for the Lakers, the coaching staff can figure out how to put James to good use. Despite his age, James is still one of the premier assets in the NBA. For his betterment and the Lakers’, the sooner they can figure out what to do with their positions, the better.

NBA fans react to LeBron James asking for minutes

Fans across the NBA were quick to react to LeBron James asking his coaches for more playing minutes. Many were truly unhappy and sad that James had to be asked to be put on the floor.
