Whether LeBron James is the most prolific player to have ever played in the NBA or not, remains to be a matter of opinion yet there are no doubts that he is the most spoken off personnel in the active basketball world. Be it his on-court gameplays or his off-court tweets, the King always manages to grasp the attention of modern-day fans. But his gruesome silence since a 17-year-old was beaten to death near iPromise School has started worrying some sections majorly.
To those who are not aware, a 17-year-old teenager was brutally beaten to death in the parking lot of iPromise School in Akron wherein LeBron James is the patron behind the spoken off school. While LeBron James went onto reveal his heart-breaking feelings knowing that such an incident has taken place, the family members of the victim want the King to get more involved in the case and lead the law enforcement to find those who are accountable. Is that right tough?
Why is LeBron James being made to face the heat?
Police described the investigation as ‘fluid’ and the reason for the killing is listed as unknown. While LeBron tweeted out his respects, some believe that it simply isn’t enough.
Given that LeBron James has always had a firm stance on various social injustice issues and has urged the necessary parties to take a firm hand in the case, his gruesome silence has ensured some are mightily frustrated with it. Why hasn’t he spoken out? Why has the foundation not taken any steps? As some users pointed out, LeBron did tweet when he needed to.
He has an active and powerful voice in the modern media and when it comes to speaking out, LeBron does it often. In this regard fans would be aware about the ‘shut up and dribble’ fiasco. The victim’s relative even replied to the tweet. She asked for accountability and wanted LeBron to send out more than just words and prayers.
Given that such a disturbing incident has taken place in one of LeBron’s schools. Is he bound to act upon the same, more than any personnel is required to? Given that the given personnel is also right to ask for justice for her loved one, will Bron respond or act upon it? Remains to be seen.
