Richard Jefferson recently made a shocking revelation that LeBron James tops Kobe Bryant on the offensive end. The former Nets player admitted that James was always the tougher offensive threat to him.
The NBA Today host had played against one of the best players in league history, including James and Bryant. Jefferson also played with James on the Cavaliers for two years, and had battled Bryant in his prime days.
Richard Jefferson justified why Bryant was not his pick over James. “He (Kobe) was going to shoot the ball … you had to make it tough. If he made them all, he was getting 81. If he missed a couple, he would get you 25.” Jefferson added, “So that, to me, wasn’t the hardest person to guard.”
“To me, it was LeBron James; he was bigger, he was more physical…At 22 years old, 23 years old,” the 43-year-old said. ‘I don’t know what we’re going to do with this man,’ and they’re (the league) still trying to answer it.”
In his defense, Jefferson played in one of the best defensive teams of the 2000s, the Brooklyn Nets. He also played against James in the 2007 NBA Finals. The Spurs did beat James in 2007 but was still a nightmare for defenders on the offensive side of the court.
Contrary to the stat sheets, Kobe was known for having one of the deadliest scoring packages in history. Bryant still holds the record for the second-highest career high when he went for 81 points versus the Raptors.
Kobe Bryant Vs LeBron James a head-to-head comparison

Kobe Bryant and LeBron James entered the league six years apart from each other, but scrape through a similar era. Bryant played 20 seasons with the Lakers and won 5 championships while James won two championships with the Heat, one with the Cavaliers, and recently won one with Bryant’s former team.
The Mamba averaged 25 points per game with 5.2 assists and 4.2 rebounds to go along with it. James outduels Bryant’s scoring splits with his career averages of 27.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 7.3 assists in 1,421 regular-season games.
The King also holds the record for the highest career points in NBA history while Bryant hangs at the fourth position on the list. Strictly on the offensive side, Bryant was known more for his scoring than James. The 6-foot-9 forward possesses the better passing ability.
Although the two legends have faced off several times in the regular season, fans never got to a finals matchup between them. James is behind Kobe in only Championship numbers and he is looking to eclipse Bryant soon with his new Lakers squad.
