LeBron James is 39 years old. Naturally, some of his former retired teammates are also old enough to have children as grown up as his own son. Whenever his son scores in his college basketball games, James gets hyped up. One of James’ former running mates, Eddie House, was similarly fired up watching his son score for New Mexico. This moment fueled James’ excitement as he watched his teammate experience the emotions.

Eddie House’s son Jaelen House plays basketball for the New Mexico Lobos. Tonight, they played against the San Diego State Aztecs for the Mountain West Championship. With 1 minute left in the game, Jaelen House drove the ball from the perimeter into the paint and finished with a tough layup. Seeing this, his father, former Miami Heat guard Eddie House, jumped up in joy, flexing his arms on the sideline, and was seen shouting.

That’s my motherf**king son! That’s my motherf**king boy!

Eddie House was shouting

When LeBron James saw this clip, he replied to this incident on his X (Formerly Twitter) account.

I love that!!! So (fire emoticons)

LeBron James knows how fired up a father can be when watching their son score incredible shots in basketball. He has himself witnessed his son Bronny James make a few highlight reel plays during his time with USC this year.

House Jr. scored many tough shots en route to a game topping 28 points. His all-round performance was good enough to net him the Mountain West Tournament MVP. This win helps the New Mexico Lobos to a spot in the upcoming NCAA Tournament.

LeBron James’ possibility to play with his son Bronny James in NBA diminishing

LeBron James is in a bit of a fix about his son’s college basketball career. Before the start of the season, James Jr. was tipped to be a top-10 draft pick. However, the unfortunate heart attack before his debut season started complicated matters. The ensuing drop-in play by the former McDonald’s All-American contributed to him being removed from the 2024 NBA Mock Draft.

One glimmer of hope to salvage the narrative was if James Jr. played well in the Pac-12 Tournament. But USC’s loss in the quarter-finals to Arizona has put a lid on that effort. Bronny scored a measly 3 points in the game, which is in line with his per-game average throughout the season.

Now, the most famous basketball player in the world has to take a call along with his son about his future. Many analysts believe James Jr. should stay back for one more year. But James wants to play with his son, and time is not his best friend at the moment.
