The Los Angeles Lakers have managed to scamper through their Play-In game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. They will now face the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round of the playoffs. While fans were critical of the Lakers’ performance against a depleted Timberwolves, LeBron James‘ post-game interview has many in splits. Fans and media are still sceptical about the Lakers’ chances to win the seven-game series against the Grizzlies, and the press asked James about the same.
James kept a calm demeanour while he broke down the entire Grizzlies roster. He was asked his thoughts on the matchup with Memphis, and James took no time to think to answer that question. “Really good team. Very well coached. Very well balanced,” he said to start off his appreciation of the competition they give to their opponents. James then mentioned almost every player on the Grizzlies’ roster, starting with their front running player, Ja Morant.
“Obviously they have Ja Morant but another all-star in Jarren Jackson (Jr) who’s up there one of the defensive players of the year. His ability to block shots but offensively very dynamic as well,” James said, starting his analysis of the team. “Tyus Jones has led the league in the assist-turnover ratio like the last six years,” he said, talking about the Grizzlies guard off the bench. “Desmond Bane is in his second or third year but he plays like a veteran. His ability to shoot the ball from the three-point line and also his ability to attack in early transition.”
James also spoke about Dillon Brooks, saying, “You can’t disrespect him coz he makes shots.” The Lakers guard kept going with his breakdown, saying “They got Xavier Tillman who’s been playing good basketball. They got Luke Kennard who broke my scoring record in high school. He’s a laser from the three-point line,”.
James then ended his Grizzlies analysis, saying they can’t be disrespected because they make their opponents pay. His final comment to the breakdown was, “Obviously I haven’t thought about Memphis one minute,” which had the entire press room laughing.

Lakers supporters believe the first-round series between the two teams is over before it even begins. They believe the series will finish with a Lakers win.
