LeBron James was hyped as Austin Reaves entered the Crypto.com Arena all guns blazing. The 24-year-old delivered an absolute masterclass against the Orlando Magic on Sunday night to get back the Los Angeles Lakers in the winning column. After a pair of losses, the youngster turned up and rallied his team to a victory.

Although Anthony Davis struggled to get going, Reaves took care of business to keep his team from sliding downhill. He provided much-needed energy off the bench for the Lakers. From clutch baskets to drawing fouls to creating plays for his teammates, the youngster practically got the Lakers’ offense going on his own.

Because of the passion he brings to the court, Reaves has grown into a fan favorite. His performance against the Magic, though, had Lakers superstar LeBron James equally pumped. Following the 35-point outing, James, who was watching the game as a spectator, was left in awe of his teammate’s performance. He took to Twitter and wrote, “AR YOU A BAD MUTHA…SHUT YO MOUTH!!! You toooooo TOUGH!!”

A seal of approval from King James himself must mean a lot to Reaves. This might also give him the confidence to continue to lead his team from the front in LeBron James’ absence. The young guard has improved dramatically since last season, averaging 11.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.

The Lakers’ recent victory keeps their postseason aspirations alive, and the team will be looking to build on it.

LeBron James might return this season, says Darvin Ham

On Sunday, the Lakers provided possibly the most significant update on LeBron James’ injury status and comeback timeframe. Lakers head coach Darvin Ham stated ahead of the team’s game against the Magic that the Lakers anticipate James to return this year.

He has been out since suffering an injury against Dallas three weeks ago. Throughout those three weeks, there have been numerous stories, speculations, and wild guesses. And, while Ham did not provide a specific comeback date, if anybody outside of James knows, it will be Ham.

So far, his rehabilitation appears to be going well. He returned to the floor last week during a shootaround. And it was stated that he felt better in the days after, which was a good omen. Nevertheless, things indicate that he will not return until the last week of the season.

Again, this feels a lot like a guessing game right now. What everyone knows is that James has been back on the court and that he’s expected back this season. Everything in between feels like a series of questions. But he’ll be back after a few more steps in the right way. The Lakers will need need him back as soon as he is physically able.
