The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Minnesota Timberwolves in their play-in game last night, and LeBron James made sure Anthony Davis apologized for taking the game to overtime. LeBron assisted Dennis Schroder for a three-pointer with 1.5 seconds left on the clock to seal the game potentially. However, AD fouled Mike Conley on his three-point attempt, which allowed them to tie the game.
The Lakers won in OT, and the King made sure Davis apologized for almost bottling the game. “It’s unfortunate that AD had a brain fart and messed his game-winner up,” said LeBron in his on-court interview after the game with Dennis Schroder. AD was out of the frame and took the mic and apologized as the three of them laughed it off. “I messed his game-winner up I apologize. I definitely apologize,” said AD.
The Los Angeles Lakers advanced to the playoffs after missing out last year and are set up for a first-round series against the Memphis Grizzlies. LeBron will look to maintain his impeccable record in the first round of the playoffs being defeated only once at the hands of the Phoenix Suns in 2021. The two Western powerhouses will lock horns on April 16th.

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will face the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA playoffs for the first time ever
The Memphis Grizzlies are back to being the playoff team they were in the early 2010s and have to take on playoff veteran LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in their biggest test yet. LeBron James is no stranger to taking down young and hopeful NBA teams like the Toronto Raptors from 2016-2018, but Memphis will be a new challenge in only his third playoff appearance as a Western Conference player.
The Grizzlies are the #2 seed this season and have looked like a playoff threat all year. Ja Morant was an all-star this year, with significant improvements in players such as Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr, making them a force to reckon with. JJJ has been nominated for the Defensive Player of the Year award, and his contest with AD will be the one to look out for.
King James and the Lakers have a 2-1 record against Memphis this season and will be confident going into the series. However, Memphis star Ja Morant recorded a 39-point triple-double in his last match against the Los Angeles Lakers and will look to take the playoff by storm after getting injured in the second round last year. Memphis is under pressure to replicate last season’s success, and the Lakers are looking to build on their revival this season after starting 2-10.
