Former NBA Player and coach Mark Jackson expressed his disappointment about Lakers forward LeBron James practising free throws amidst a review during the Lakers’ victory over the New Orleans Pelicans at home on Wednesday night.

With a minute to go in the third quarter and the Lakers leading 82-71, the referees called for a review and LeBron James took advantage of the pause in regulation to practice free throws after air-balling one. Former Golden State Warriors coach and ABC analyst Mark Jackson, who was one of the commentators for the game wasn’t really happy with it and said, “He shouldn’t be getting shots up, somebody should be overseeing this.”

Fouled by CJ McCollum with a minute to go in the third quarter, LeBron James went to the line for 2 FT attempts. He made the first free throw to score his 14th of the night, and followed it up with an airball on the second attempt. James’ career free throw percentage is 73.5, and the 38-year-old left no opportunity to perfect his form when the refs called for a review after his missed second attempt.

Normally, the ball is in the hands of the official at the time of a review but in this case, it was being used by a player to practice his free throws. This, perhaps disappointed Jackson who didn’t hold back from expressing it.
