It hasn’t even been a year since D’Angelo Russell joined the Los Angeles Lakers, and the trade rumors have already started. However, that doesn’t stop him from making a big impact on the court.

In their recent win against the Portland Blazers, Russell showcased his aggressive playing style, leaving LeBron James impressed. So much so, that he even praised the newly arrived Point Guard in the post-game interview.

Just been aggressive and looking for his shot, and we continue to try and find [D’Angelo Russell], especially in transition.

The Los Angeles Laker’s win over the Portland Blazers meant they have yet again equaled their win-loss record by 22-22. But it was all about D’Angelo Russell that night, who got 34 points, 8 assists, and 1 brilliant rebound in the entirety of the game. It was a cruised win over a toothless Blazers side, who now sit 14th in the Western Conference with 30 losses already.

As for the trade rumors circulating, teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves and Atlanta Hawks are observing the situation. But for now, no concrete talks or trade offers have been made. And with LeBron’s support for him, D’Angelo Russell would still have a lot to provide to his Lakers side in the near future.

Lakers’ triumph over Blazers with a mighty performance

In an outstanding performance, the Los Angeles Lakers dominated the Portland Trail Blazers with an impressive score of 134-110. Led by their Point Guard D’Angelo Russell, who had a spectacular 34-point game, alongside LeBron James’ 28 points, the Lakers showcased their offensive prowess throughout the match.

Russell’s exceptional play was highlighted by a dazzling fastbreak, feigning a behind-the-back pass to James and effortlessly finishing the layup, which LeBron did mention in his postgame interview. As for the Blazers, despite their best efforts, with Malcolm Brogdon leading their scoring efforts with 23 points and 9 assists, the Blazers failed to withstand the Lakers’ offensive onslaught.

With the resounding victory and getting back-on-the-winning streak, the Lakers now hope their form in the league gets better than how it had started in 2024. And while the hopes of challenging for the title are still questionable, you never know how things would pan out in the NBA.
