An American football game between the Colorado Buffaloes and the Colorado State took an unexpected turn. It happened when the Wide Receiver of the Buffaloes, Travis Hunter, missed an incoming pass from his teammate. As the pass went over his head, Henry Blackburn of Colorado State exacted a hit on Hunter, causing him to leave the game.
While Hunter did return later on, his stay was short-lived, and he was rushed to the hospital soon after. What has left many fans aghast is that Blackburn was not thrown out of the game for his act. NBA legend LeBron James chimed in, tweeting, “Like I don’t understand the difference between targeting and what I just witnessed. I’ve seen others get thrown out for far less. That was blatant and uncalled for IMO!”
James, amongst others, sent out a prayer for Travis Hunter. Many of his fans joined him, sending their well wishes for Hunter.
Many criticized the officials for not taking more stringent action against Henry Blackburn, stating that his unjustified charge on Hunter was grounds enough for expulsion.
