The basketball world is in awe of the newest accomplishment the 39-year-old Los Angeles Lakers superstar has achieved.
Tonight was scheduled to be the clash that cements James as the first to break the 40000 points barrier in NBA history. At the 10:41 mark in the 2nd quarter, James finished a spinning layup with his left hand against Michael Porter Jr. to set the mark.
Emphatically, the entire crowd stood up to applaud the milestone. James is the first player in history to surpass the number. Especially to do that in his 21st season at age 39 sent the NBA world into a frenzy.
James became the all-time scoring leader in NBA history on the 7th of February 2023. Entering his 21st season, everyone was suspecting if James could continue the same production. No player in history has scored more than 7.4 points per game in their 21st year. James is currently averaging 25.3 points. Unreal numbers for someone who has played this long.
