Former 2-time NBA champion Quinn Cook is once again making the headlines. After his recent performance in a match in the Chinese Basketball Association, the former Golden State Warrior is drawing comparisons to the reigning Finals MVP, Stephen Curry. For his feat, he’s been lauded and praised by various NBA stars including Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. In a game against the Shandong Hi-Speed Kirin, Cook truly channeled his inner Stephen Curry, making 12 triples on his route to an absurd 54 points.

Quinn Cook’s game highlights were undoubtedly seen by LeBron James, who was quick to compliment his old Los Angeles Lakers colleague on his Instagram story, LeBron posted a viral clip of Quinn Cook scoring and wrote, “Certified bucket, my bro [Quinn Cook] ain’t playing no games” Cook was acquired by the Zhejiang Guangsha Lions in November, as he finished with an impressive 18-for-24 field goal percentage, including a scorching 12-for-15 mark from beyond the arc, and added five rebounds and two assists

Quinn Cook has not been a member of an NBA regular-season team since 2021. Being 29, he is one of the top free agents still available. And thanks to his most recent success in the Chinese Basketball Association, the former captain guard for the 2015 Duke basketball national champions may have improved his prospects of rejoining the league this season.

He stayed with the Golden State Warriors until 2019 which saw him score a career-high 25 points against the Sacramento Kings in the 2017-18 season until bettering his record to a 30-point game against the Milwaukee bucks.

With Stephen Curry’s ailments, Cook remained a crucial component for the Golden State Warriors. On April 8, 2018, the Warriors agreed to a two-year contract with him to help assure his eligibility to participate in the postseason. That season the Warriors went on to win the NBA finals after defeating the Cavs in 4 games.
