“S**t ain’t gonna make a lick of difference” – LeBron James REIGN ENDING still won’t make All-Star game watchable, claims NBA Twitter

The NBA All-Star Game has lost its luster over the years, as the players have shown little interest or effort in the annual showcase. The league has experimented with different formats to spice things up, such as introducing a player draft, playing for charity, and using a target score in the fourth quarter.
None of these changes have made the game more fun or competitive. Now, the NBA is reportedly considering going back to the old East vs. West format, which was used for 66 years before switching to the draft in 2018. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania and Mike Vorkunov, the idea has been discussed at a recent board of governor and general manager meetings as the NBA and NBPA try to make the game more appealing.
LeBron James has been the captain of one of the teams every year since the captaincy format was introduced in 2018. But James himself doesn’t seem to care much about the format or the game. He has admitted in the past that he doesn’t enjoy playing in the All-Star Game and that he would rather rest during the break. He has also been criticized for not taking the game seriously and for picking his friends and teammates over other deserving players.
So whether it’s East vs. West or Team LeBron vs. Team Whoever, it probably won’t make a lick of difference for James or for anyone else. The NBA All-Star Game will probably remain a dull and forgettable affair that no one will remember or care about.

NBA Twitter reacts to proposed All-Star game format change
Many fans have expressed their skepticism and indifference about the proposed change, arguing that it won’t solve the underlying problem of the All-Star Game: the lack of motivation and effort from the players. Some have pointed out that the East vs. West format was not very competitive or interesting either, as evidenced by the last game in 2017, which ended with a score of 192-182.
Here are some of the reactions from NBA Twitter:
The players are the ones who make or break the game. They are the ones who have to decide whether they want to play hard or not, whether they want to compete or not, and whether they want to entertain or not. If they don’t care about the game, no one else will either.
But if they do care about it – if they play with passion and pride, if they challenge themselves and each other, if they put on a show for themselves and for us – then maybe we will too. Maybe then fans will see something worth watching.
