LeBron James has featured in Christmas games for 16 consecutive seasons. His presence in the Christmas Game has become almost like a tradition. Not only has he given NBA fans highlights to remember and marvel upon, but also some of the greatest games ever. But James has his pick when it comes to the greatest Christmas game ever.

LeBron took to Instagram to let everyone know that the 2016 NBA Christmas Game between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers was the best ever. Perhaps many NBA fans who watched and remembered that game would also agree with Bron. The rivalry was real, the Cavs had just beaten the Warriors in the finals, and Dubs brought in Kevin Durant for the answer. The Christmas game in 2016 was not a Christmas game but also a preview between two NBA finalists.

Before facing each other in the NBA Finals, both teams wanted to drop a statement on the big stage. James led Cavaliers beat the Warriors 109-108 in the much-hyped-up game. Entering the 4th quarter, the Warriors had led by 7 points, but the Cavs rallied and beat them 21-29 at the end of the 4th quarter. LeBron led Cleveland with 31 points, and Durant led the Dubs with 36. Now with Christmas Games just being hours away LeBron has labeled the 2016 match-up as “The Absolute Greatest,” via his Instagram story.

LeBron James faces his prodigy Luka Doncic on the 2022-23 Christmas Day

LeBron James and Luka Doncic

16 consecutive NBA Christmas games are nothing but a testament to LeBron’s greatness and his dominance for 2 consecutive decades in the game. He has been an absolute showman for the fans since he entered the league. Going into 9 consecutive NBA Finals, beating the unbeatable like a perfect chess master, he has been an absolute joy to watch.

The NBA great is going against his prodigy and young superstar Luka Doncic this Christmas day. Luka is a big LeBron fan, he has molded his game watching the 4 x NBA Champion. But just like James, the Dallas Mavericks‘ superstar is also a fierce competitor. But James has achieved perhaps more than he would have imagined from his NBA career, and he is still hungry when he steps on the floor.

Facing Doncic is a big challenge for the Lakers since they are playing without their superstar Anthony Davis. However, it’s the Christmas Day game and the 4 x MVP likes reminding people, who is still the King of the league. Though James has nothing to prove, he likes to put a statement game on the big day. Perhaps Chiney Ogwumike puts it perfectly, “its’ always saying like you are not itching to be noticed but you sure as heck won’t be ignored and that’s LeBron James on Christmas Day.”
