LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers were supposed to take care of business today. The Houston Rockets are a challenge. But not something the Lakers could not manage against. They couldn’t. They ended up losing to the Rockets in a game they never led for more than one possession. Towards the end of the game, something James did caught the eye of keen-sighted basketball fans.

The game was always out of the reach for the Lakers once the Rockets’ Cam Whitmore heated up towards the end of the first quarter. Since then, the Lakers have been trying to play catch up to the Rockets. The Lakers were behind by as much as 30 points at one time. Toward the end of the game, fans noticed LeBron James who just took his seat on the bench during a timeout. It seems like, James checked head coach Darvin Ham with a side-eye. Fans have taken to social media to discuss this visual.

The Lakers were coming into this game on the back of two wins. The second was a double-overtime thriller against the Golden State Warriors. They averaged 143 points in those games. So, to lag behind the Rockets almost throughout the game by double digits did not sit well with the reigning all-time leading scorer. The game finished with a 135-119 scoreline favoring the Rockets.

The Lakers fell short despite James, Anthony Davis, and D’Angelo Russell all scoring 23 points each. It was the lack of energy from the rest of the squad that cost them the game. The Rockets relied on their youth and an aggressive Dillon Brooks, to punish the Lakers. Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun dominated with 34 and 31 points respectively. They both grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 7 assists each.

NBA fans cannot let go of LeBron James’ side-eye check

LeBron James knows all too well that he cannot keep side-eyeing Darvin Ham for long else the cameras will pick it up. So, for basketball fans to notice such a split-second scenario develop was good enough for some comments to prop up on social media. After all, they just saw the four-time champion speak with his eyes.
