LeBron James is one of the greatest athletes ever in the sporting world. So he was named as the honorary starter for 24 hours of Le Mans race in France. And, LeBron James not missing the opportunity once again made history but this time in motorsports. He was a special guest at the 100th anniversary of the race that takes place at Circuit de la Sarthe.
LeBron James talking about being the honorary starter for the centennial race said: “There’s nothing like seeing and experiencing sports at their highest level. It’s an honor for me to be part of this historic moment in motorsports and help celebrate the Centenary of one of the biggest sporting events in the world. I look forward to kicking off this iconic race and watching its world-class drivers compete on Le Mans’ global stage.”
LeBron James kicked off 24 Hours of Le Mans on Saturday Afternoon by waving the French flag. He also gave the starting command to all the drivers participating in the race. And, he gave the starting command not in English as being a man of culture he used the French language to do so.
LeBron James commanding the drivers said: “Pilotes démarrez vos moteurs.” Basically, it was Born telling the driver to start their engine. He really would have practised the line multiple times and did a great job while executing it. But unfortunately, the internet wins again as James is getting clowned on Twitter for speaking in French.

Twitter trolls LeBron James for speaking in French at Le Mans
Fans are clowning LeBron James for his not-great pronunciation. Many weren’t even able to understand what he said. But the ones who did are appreciating his efforts and showed some respect to him.
He’s one of the many athletes and celebrities who have kicked off the 24 hours of Le Mans. But he’s the only one who’s getting trolled for it. You can find some of the many reactions posted by fans on Twitter here below:
Toyota has won the last five races, but this is going to be a special year. We’ll have to wait for the results though as the race is on. And, we’ll also have to wait for LeBron James to decide his future as lately he’s been considering retirement from the league.
