The Los Angeles Lakers and The Golden State Warriors played their first preseason game recently. The Warriors easily won the game 125-108. It was a warmup game for the regular season where LeBron James didn’t play, and other stars like Steph Curry and Anthony Davis played limited minutes. The match had its moments, especially one light-hearted one shared by LeBron, Curry, and Davis after the game.
After the game, LeBron and Curry were seen laughing and talking, and Davis joined them. The audio of the conversation leaked, which revealed the entire conversation. During their exchange, LeBron said to Curry, “You’re gonna need a gold medal,” to which Curry replied, “Nobody is going to stop us.” Moments later, Davis extended a handshake to Curry, which he didn’t acknowledge, and roasted Davis, saying they won’t be needing him in their Olympics campaign.
Warriors and Lakers both have their eyes set on winning the championship. While LeBron and Curry are friends off the court, they are competitors focused on their goals. They have also committed to Team USA for the next Olympic games to win gold and cement themselves as the best basketball nation in the world.
LeBron James and Steph Curry forming a superteam for Paris Olympics
Following the disappointing showing by Team USA in the recent FIBA World Cup, the veterans have decided to take matters into their own hands and form a superteam for the upcoming Olympic Games. Steph Curry, LeBron James, and Kevin Durant were the first ones to commit to the team and have recruited other players to form a super team that can definitely cruise through the tournament.
The 2023 FIBA World Cup did not go as planned for the United States. While the superstars did not play, the young and upcoming talents could not get past the semi-finals. It made the veterans motivated to hunt for Gold in next year’s Olympics.
Team USA now sports names like Steph, LeBron, KD, Anthony Davis, and Joel Embiid, among others. They have commitments from several players like Kawhi Leonard, who would play for the team if given a chance to do so. With such a team assembled for the Olympics, they would have a chance to solidify themselves and prove that the USA has the best basketball players in the world.
