The 2022 Season was a very inspirational one for Jayson Tatum and it seems to have caught the eye of Lakers superstar LeBron James. He made it to the NBA finals and also had great production for the team throughout the regular season. The Boston Celtics lost the NBA Final series in six games against the powerful and dominant Golden State Warriors, but the performance of Jayson Tatum created a lot of buzz in the league. Especially after he led Boston to eliminate Durant, Giannis and Butler in the dame playoff run.
Moreover, Tatum had a huge compliment from the King, as LeBron James heaps praise on the youngster in the recent edition of “the Shop”. Tatum, who at his young age of 24 years, is already a leader and vital figure in one of the most prestigious franchises in the league. He had some Playoffs phenomenal to get to the last instance. Unfortunately, there he fell short and did not meet the expectations that were with him. But LeBron James doesn’t consider it a bad patch for future superstar Jayson Tatum.
Of that and other things, Lebron James took a dig at critics in his new episode of the show The shop, on HBO. “Usually, those who criticize are those who never enter the field. They never get their blood pressure or heart rate above 60. And they try to tell you what you should do, how you should kick, or act, or paint.”
LeBron James sees a bright future for Jayson Tatum
LeBron James entered the league at the age of 18 and made the mark instantly with effective and explosive game plays. Over his 19-year career, he won 4 NBA Championships and was also named finals MVP on every occasion. Similarly, Jayson Tatum began his NBA career at the age of 19 and reached the NBA Finals n the 5th season – just like LBJ who made it to NBA Finals in his 4th season.
Praising Tatum’s current development LeBron said, “Jayson Tatum is a beast. He didn’t play in his standard, but he had a tremendous season and he’s not even 25 yet. They will return (to the Finals). He played against the same team as me in my first finals. I played against the Spurs, It’s the same shit.”
LeBron James had a mediocre team when he first won the Eastern Conference title with the Cavs and was swept by the San Antonio Spurs in the 2007 finals. Celtics star Jayson Tatum had a very potent support cast, but experienced Warriors managed to outclass them in 2022 NBA Finals games. LeBron James compared the same when he was beaten by an experience San Antonio Team.
But the superstar went on to dominate the league, and his efficient, effective gameplay kept his teams always in the title race. LeBron made it to 10 NBA Finals and considers that reigning Eastern Conference Finals MVP Jayson Tatum also has the potential to make his name in the league.
