“No pressure to be some Greek Freak” LeBron James’ teammate throws direct shade at Giannis Antetokounmpo

NBA and Los Angeles Lakers star player Anthony Davis said he is not putting any pressure on himself, and his personal goal is to play every game for his team, LA Lakers. Anthony was talking in a press conference on the Los Angeles media day. He also said that he has no mood to become a Greek freak while directly pointing it out to NBA star player Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Anthony Davis said, “For me, I’m not putting any kind of pressure on myself at all. I’m gonna go out there and play basketball, work hard, defend, and do what the team needs to win basketball games. I’m not going to overthink and listen to what everybody else is saying and try to be this whatever player they want me to be to, this greek god. I say greek, not Giannis (Antetokounmpo), but like this is god-like for this team and I’m not going to put that pressure on myself.”

Anthony Davis and injuries go hand in hand. The LA Lakers roster missed their star player as he was out with an injury. But he is back on the court for the upcoming NBA 2022-2023 season. He would be rearing to go and silence most of the criticism he has faced over the period. It was reported that many expected Anthony to turn up like Milwaukee Bucks star player Giannis Antetokounmpo did after winning the title. Anthony will have to be on his toes if the Lakers are to win this season.

Anthony Davis is definitely ahead of Giannis Antetokounmpo

Anthony Davis has the mettle to take his team Los Angeles Lakers, over the line single-handedly. He has already lost a lot of game time, citing injuries. He is eyeing a solid comeback for his team in the new NBA season that is about to begin. Even the Lakers fans hope that Davis stays on the court for the whole season. Likewise, Giants has made a name for himself in the NBA league and is on his way to creating a legacy. By the end of the season, it will be clear who is better out of these two-star players. But many would agree that Anthony Davis is far ahead of Giannis even if he lost a lot of game time to injuries.

On the other hand ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins is hopeful of Anthony Davis winning the 2023 MVP award. While talking with Bally Sports’ Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, he said, “I actually got high hopes that Anthony Davis might be MVP. I think that Anthony Davis is going to come out on a mission; word is that there’s reports that [Lakers coach] Darvin Ham says that the Lakers offense will go through Anthony Davis and I think that this is Anthony Davis’s moment to start getting back in that top tier, top 5 player conversation again — like it used to be a conversation ‘Who would you rather?’ and all of the sudden, Giannis put a WHOLE lot of separation and I think that Anthony Davis is going to come and fill up some of that slack and narrow that gap a little bit.” The Los Angeles Lakers will take on the defending champions Golden State Warriors in their opening game on 18th Oct in the upcoming NBA 2022-2023 season.
