“Don’t bet against them!” Lil Wayne claims LeBron James and Lakers have ‘Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady’ aura

Lil Wayne and LeBron James

Lil Wayne was in the company of Skip Bayless and Paul Pierce on a recent episode of FS1’s Undisputed. Bayless inquired if the Grammy Award-winning artist thinks the Los Angeles Lakers could make a deep run in the playoffs, to which the rapper made a positive remark.

The rapper asserted that betting against LeBron James and the Lakers was equal to going against NFL greats Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady, which one knows isn’t always a great plan. He also referenced their last season’s run to the conference finals to substantiate his points.

Definitely, I can see that, I always could see that, with or without LeBron. Especially what they did last year; it shouldn’t be a surprise, but it surprised me. So, when you see that, it’s kind of like that they got that Partick Mahomes that Tom Brady thing about, ‘don’t bet against them’ that type of thing going on.

LeBron James and the Purple and Gold are 9th in the standings, which allows them to compete for the playoffs via the Play-In Tournament. However, rapper Lil Wayne has so much faith in the team that he is still not ready to count the Lakers out from winning the Western Conference finals.

Although the Los Angeles Lakers, before the start of the season, were among the favorites, suffered from a lack of consistency, even though they ended up winning the NBA In-Season Tournament. However, they still found it difficult to chase the pack above them. With the teams above them, it’d take a lot of guts and determination from the Lakers.

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers drop points

The Lakers were on course to prove Lil Wayne right that they could make a run for the conference finals and they shouldn’t be written off, but unfortunately, they hit a wall against the Indiana Pacers, which ended their five-game winning streak. The Lakers lost 109-90 away in what was a dull performance.

However, Anthony Davis again had an outstanding performance as he ended the night with 24 points and 15 rebounds. In comparison, LeBron James came up with 16 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 assists, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Pacers from romping to victory as all five Pacers’ starters were in double digits.

However, the LA Lakers have favorable games, which include games against the Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, and Washington Wizards, which on paper, the Purple and Gold are expected to have it easy. However, the league has become more competitive as they’d need to step up to earn a win to make Lil Wayne’s judgment right.
