For rap genre lovers, Lil Wayne would probably be on the list as one of the best figures in the music industry.

Regarded as one of the best rappers of all time, the artist has been a key figure in the rap industry for many years, reigning with the best for a while. Recently, he has caught headlines, but not for his lyrics or music, but rather for a basketball-related fiasco.

Lil Wayne attended the Los Angeles Lakers, where the men in yellow faced off against the Washington Wizards in what was a game that went to overtime and a victory for the home side. What was expected of a cheerful welcome for the rapper was suppressed by jeering, which he later took to X to express his disappointment.

Wow! Got treated like sh*t at the Laker game just now but I figured they’d do me that sooner or later either bc of what i said abt AD or simply bc they don’t fwm which I been got that vibe from em as well so all good I get it. F*ck em. It isn’t what it isn’t. I’m used to it.
Tweeted Lil Wayne after the booing he received from the game.

Interestingly enough, it was targeted at him for his take on Anthony Davis.

For context, the prominent rapper had suggested that for the Los Angeles Lakers to win another championship, they needed to get rid of Anthony Davis and “bring in some talented players.” It was that take that got fans infuriated before the game and made sure their disappointment was heard loud and clear by the rapper.

The Lakers bagged the match in overtime, beating the Wizards

With the game tied at 126 for both sides, over time it was to decide the winner, and the Los Angeles Lakers got the better of the Washington Wizards, beating them by 134-131.

Anthony Davis was yet again the star of the night, scoring 40 points and 15 rebounds as he continues to solidify his stature as one of the best players this season. As for LeBron James, he also had a game of his own, contributing 31 points and 9 assists in what was a game that was decided over time.

And with their next game against the Denver Nuggets, who look more than dangerous and contender-worthy for the NBA title, it will be a big ask for them to go toe-to-toe against the reigning champions.

With that being said, it will be pretty interesting to see whether James and Davis will manage to pull the Lakers into the playoffs.
