“Comes in, says, ‘What’s up, Shaq?’” – Shaquille O’Neal believes Stevie Wonder is LYING about being blind
Shaq and Lionel Richie share playful doubts about Stevie Wonder's blindness: A Lighthearted Encounter and Stories of Skepticism.
In the midst of laughter from his co-hosts, Shaquille O’Neal playfully questioned the authenticity of Stevie Wonder’s blindness, sharing the lighthearted story as an example of their unique encounter. The humorous exchange added a touch of levity to the show, and Shaq’s sceptical jests continued to resonate with his audience.
While the story is undoubtedly a jest, it highlights the unexpected and delightful moments that can arise in everyday life, even for renowned celebrities like Shaq and Stevie Wonder.
Shaquille O’Neal explained that he and Stevie both reside in the same building. He elaborated, “We live in a building on Wilshire. You park your car, and the valet is down there. I’m already inside the building, making my way through the lobby. The elevator door opens, and there’s Stevie Wonder. He steps in, greets me with a ‘What’s up, Shaq?’ and proceeds to press the button.”
Iconic Singer Lionel Richie Shares Amusing Encounter Questioning Stevie Wonder’s Blindness
Evidently, iconic singer Lionel Richie shares a similar scepticism. As reported by Us Weekly, the “American Idol” judge mentioned during an appearance on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” said he has spent his life thinking Stevie can see and he has been convinced of it. He spoke about a funny story where he once visited Stevie’s house Richie was invited to hear a new song which Stevie had in his car.
Richie said Stevie gave him instructions and asked him to sit on the passenger side and sat on the driver’s side. Richie was surprised to see that Stevie cranked up his car and also managed to put the tape right, what shooked him the most was he started driving back down the driveway
Stevie told The Guardian back in 2012 that he didn’t consider his blindness a disadvantage. According to his official biography, he has been blind since birth after being born six weeks prematurely.
