“They have $612 Billion in assets” LIV Golf looking to poach Charles Barkley and challenge NFL, American leagues

Charles Barkley

Charles Barkley is willing to join or collaborate with the controversial Saudi Arabia-funded golf tour known as LIV Golf. In an effort to compete with the PGA Tour, LIV Golf has recruited numerous well-known golfers. If Barkley contracts with LIV Golf, he could have to separate ways with NBA On TNT. Even though he isn’t very good at it, Barkley, the star of TNT’s award-winning Inside the NBA broadcast, loves golf and is apparently going to talk to LIV Golf about a future broadcasting job with the show.

LIV Golf has just begun to challenge the PGA Tour, and according to reports, the rivalry between the two has escalated as more and more money has been put on the table. The Public Investment Fund, the Saudi government’s sovereign wealth fund, is funding the LIV Golf golf tour. Several well-known figures in the golfing world have already been recruited. Along with renowned players like Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, and Patrick Reed, champion Brooks Koepka quit the PGA Tour for LIV Golf.

Charles Barkley to bid adieu with the NBA world?

Charles Barkley was arguably the biggest exception in basketball history as a player. He played power forward better than any player in NBA history, overpowering opponents who were half a foot taller, while being listed at 6-6 but actually being closer to 6-foot-4 because  he stats support him. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Wilt Chamberlain, Karl Malone, Tim Duncan, and Kevin Garnett are the only other five players in NBA history to have at least 20,000 points, 10,000 rebounds, and 4,000 assists and Barkley is one of just six players to achieve this feat.

But when the topic of Barkley’s escapades comes up, many people first recall the always hilarious and occasionally absurd running commentary on basketball and life that he offered during his illustrious 16-year NBA career. Barkley was enshrined in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006, a decade after his 1999 retirement. Since the end of his playing career, Barkley has grown to be one of basketball’s greatest off-court stars, hosting TNT’s award-winning “Inside the NBA” coverage and giving basketball fans across the world nonstop entertainment.

Dan Patrick talked about how Barkley has discussions with LIV Golf’s higher authorities and could part ways with Shaq, Kenny, and Ernie. For “Inside the NBA,” losing Charles Barkley would be a devastating blow. Barkley presently earns $6 million a year with TNT, but if he receives a better offer, he probably will walk. Additionally, because Barkley is under contract to TNT exclusively and his agreement won’t end until the conclusion of the NBA’s 2024–2025 season, things may become really complicated. If that were to occur, Barkley’s endorsement agreements with brands like Capital One and Subway would also be in jeopardy, and he is aware of this.

LIV Golf was introduced by the Public Investment Fund, the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund’s preferred term. It is said to have assets of $620 billion. The Public Investment Fund has the resources necessary to challenge the PGA, NFL, and many other American leagues if it so chooses. LIV Golf is now only a PGA Tour rival, but given their entrance, they may eventually have their sights set on the NFL. We must now wait and watch what Charles Barkley decides since only time will tell.
