There have been several rumors regarding the reshuffling of ESPN’s top NBA announcing team. While no official announcements have been made, there are strong indications from sources like The New York Post that ESPN intends to onboard former coach Doc Rivers and analyst Doris Burke to team up with Mike Breen.

Jackson was notably gracious when the topic of Doc Rivers, his potential replacement, was brought up. Expressing genuine goodwill, he remarked, “I wish Doc nothing but the best, he’s a Hall of Fame coach. A tremendous guy. And he’ll be great.” Clearing the air on their relationship, Jackson disclosed that he had spoken with Rivers recently and confirmed that there is no animosity between them.

Mark Jackson’s association with ESPN has seen him transition from an All-Star point guard for the New York Knicks to a well-known commentator, post his playing career. He had first joined ESPN in 2006, only to momentarily leave the booth between 2011 to 2014 to coach the Golden State Warriors. Fans and well-wishers are eagerly awaiting his next move as he stands at a career crossroads once again.
