The Miami Heat have been on fire lately, winning 8 of their last 10 games played and are leading by 3-1 in the Easter Conference Semifinals series against the New York Knicks. Jimmy Butler has been leading the way with his stellar play, averaging 33.5 points, 6.4 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game in playoffs this season. The Heat have shown a lot of heart and hustle on both ends of the court.
But not everyone is buying into their hype or their chances of reaching the NBA Finals. On FanDuel TV, former NBA player Chandler Parsons broke down the upcoming series between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers, two of the Heat’s possible opponents in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Parsons, who suited up for four teams in his nine-year career, made a bold prediction that sparked a lot of backlash from NBA fans on Twitter. He said: “I think whoever wins this series [Celtics vs 76ers], they’re going to beat Miami.”
NBA insider Shams Charania, who also joined the show as a regular guest, joked that they should tag Jimmy Butler on social media and let him know what Parsons said. He said that Butler might use it as fuel to prove them wrong in the next games.
NBA Twitter clapped back at Parsons for his disrespect towards Jimmy Butler and Heat
Parsons’ statement did not sit well with NBA Twitter, who quickly clapped back at his disrespect for Butler and the Heat, who are leading the series against New York Knicks by 3-1.
Here are some of the reactions from fans on Twitter:
Many fans and analysts reminded Parsons of his own disappointing career, which was marred by injuries and a huge contract with the Grizzlies that he failed to live up to. Others questioned his qualifications as an analyst and wondered how he got a gig on FanDuel TV.
Parsons’ prediction seems very unlikey, however only time will tell how it plays out in the NBA world.
